favorite places #8 natural history museums

Have you ever been to a Natural History Museum?
If you have then you know what kinds of wonders and oddities are behind it's doors. If you haven't ... why not?
There's something creepily fascinating about natural history museums. All the little nooks and crannies filled with all kinds of strange and morbid things. Like the case upon case of bird specimens in an off the beaten track hallway in the basement of the Smithsonian Natural History. Or the flying ape skeletons in London's Natural History Museum. Or the floating heads at Glasgow, Scotland's Kelvingrove. Here are some of my favorite creepy, kooky, altogether ooky findings from some of the museums that I have been to. Hope you enjoy!

entomology...gorgeous butterflies and creepy crawlies...I can't help but feel sorry that they ended up stuck on a pin for eternity but they are fascinating to behold

Places to visit if you so desire...or if you dare.
Most of these are Natural History Museums but even those that aren't have their fair share of creepy kookiness. And ookiness.
