bonsoir

It's been a busy, busy couple of days. Lots of things to do, places to see and very spotty internet connection. Since my last post we have been to la Tour Eiffel and had champagne at the very tippity top. We crammed in like sardines at the musée du Louvre to get our peek at the Venus de Milo, Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa. We stopped by the musée d'Orsay. We strolled through the Jardin des Tuileries. And of course we wandered the streets of Paris.

Here is some of what we saw...

the view that greets us in the morning

no trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower

Madison agrees :)

the view from the top - the very top!

the city goes on forever and ever...

ten euros a glass but what the hell, it's Paris and it's the top of the Eiffel Tower

It's very windy at the top.

Lots of wandering leads to lots of happy surprises...like these fire bearing strangers

and a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night (yes, this is night, after ten PM in fact)

A grand palais now housing a happening nightime hot spot - the line to get into this was unbelievable

Our first chance encounter with a Paris fashion shoot - this one was on the Pont Alexandre

And this one was the next day in Montmartre at the Abesses Metro station

The people behind the fashion.

There are steps every where in our neighborhood.

Walking across the Seine on the one of the many bridges this is what we found...

supposedly lovers lock these to the bridge and then throw the key into the river below

at the Louvre...one of the three graces

Venus de Milo

Winged Victory of Samothrace

the pyramid is mesmorizing...

these two ducks were both courting the same female duck, the three of them made quite a show of parading around the courtyard of the Louvre and going for a swim in the reflecting pool - much to the delight of everyone nearby

Madison is keeping it all under control ;-)

Today we took the RER to Versailles and spent the entire day there. I have another gazillion or so photos to go through of the chateau, the gardens, Marie Antoinettes estate...so that'll be next, when I get internet connection again! Until then au revoir.

Lovers do the lock thing in Florence too. It's such a cool find as is the fashion shoots. Love your view!
